Why we GO GOLD

FacebookSeptemberProfile_edited_edited.j

In September we GO GOLD to share and highlight stories of families and most importantly the KIDS who fight every day in this country and around the world to receive the medical care they deserve.

Follow us in September and beyond as we shine a light on what still needs to be done to cure childhood cancer and how you can help in our mission to support families during treatment and beyond.

Cancer is the #1 cause of death of children by disease.

1 in 5 children with cancer in the US do not survive 5 years.

Despite advances in medicine, some types of cancer remain uncurable.

Early diagnosis of childhood cancer is often difficult.

Globally, a child is diagnosed with cancer every 80 seconds.

Children with cancer in low-income countries can be up to 10 times more likely to die.

44% of childhood cancer cases worldwide are never diagnosed.

Globally, approximately 400,000 children are diagnosed with cancer every year.

Our Causes

Helping On The Front Lines

One of the main reasons Super Drew's Crew was founded in 2020 was to help the families with children currently undergoing treatment for cancer. Initially, our fundraising was directed through a fund specific donation account at Norton Children's Hospital Foundation. The direction was to support the families and staff helping patients on 7 West, the pediatric oncology unit. Although it is a different funding venture than Super Drew's Crew, we still support the unit through the same directed fund.

Finding the "Fun" in Fundraising

While pediatric cancer can be a very serious topic, we try to keep the help on the lighter side. Our fundraisers to date have included special bourbon bottlings and a golf scramble so keep your eyes peeled for more original and fun ways for you to help too!
